GM North America President: U.S. buyers increasingly open to EVs
Steve Carlisle, GM’s president of North American automotive operations, says the number of U.S. motorists who say they’ve given serious consideration to buying a battery-electric vehicle has grown sharply recent years, reports the Detroit Bureau.
Carlisle’s comments, which he made during a conference sponsored by Citi on Thursday, come as GM is planning to roll out at least 30 battery electric vehicles by 2025, the automotive news site notes. GM CEO Mary Barra has set a target of selling 400,000 battery-powered vehicles next year, and the automaker planning to boost capacity to 1 million BEVs in North America by 2025, the Detroit Bureau says.
