Electric Car Sales Outpace All Other Segments

Kelley Blue Book’s Electrified Light Vehicle Sales Report shows that U.S. electric car sales grew faster than any other segment in the third quarter of 2022. According to the report, EV sales grew 67% compared to the same quarter last year while overall car sales fell 0.1%.

EV pioneer Tesla also saw a slip in its share of new EV sales, with 64% of sales being captured by Tesla, compared with 70% in the year-ago quarter.

Meanwhile, sales of hybrids fell 16% compared to last year.
